It is with deep regret that we inform you that on February 14, 2025, YURI YUDKOVICH YEKATERINOSLAVSKY, Professor, Doctor of Economics, passed away at the age of 89.He has lived a long and interesting life, filled with active participation in various fields, primarily in economics and risk management. He was one of the founders of the Russian Society for Risk Management (RusRisk) and was its vice president.
Today, risk management is a necessity. Many company leaders are investing time and resources in developing dedicated units, enhancing the competencies of risk managers, and heeding their recommendations. However, as practice shows, not all top managers and company shareholders recognize the effectiveness of risk management for business, although, according to global assessments, overall business performance in Western companies increases by 30–40% with the active integration of risk management into corporate governance, strategic decision‑making, and strategic planning. We discussed how the field of risk management is developing in Russia with the President of the Russian Risk Management Society (RusRisk), Victor Vereshchagin.
