About results of the Forum of the European risk managers of FERMA


The delegation of the Russian risk management society (RusRisk) took part in another Forum FERMA (Federation of the European risk management associations) In October 2017. This time the Forum was held in Monte Carlo, in French Riviera and brought together about 1300 risk managers, insurers, brokers, experts and top managers from Europe, Asia, America and South Africa.

By the main subjects of the Forum were declared «Leadership-Education-Communications» that reflects relevant reference points of the European and world risk management of the present period. In other words, the professionals in a risk management within 4 days discussed intensively the new approaches to increase in efficiency of a risk management. These approaches should promote overcoming consequences of world financial and economic crisis. The plenary sessions, numerous seminars and workshops devoted to the various aspects of a modern risk management and insurance. The main discussed issues were: a role of a risk manager in the companies and interaction with the management, the Board of directors and risk management committees, the internal control and audit; professional development and European certification of risk managers of FERMA-Rimap; cultural development of a risk management, interaction with insurers and overcautious persons; the management of a cyber, reputational and environmental risks; Big Data (risks of application of big data arrays, analytics and technologies in the companies) and others.

Traditionally, we participated in this Forum as a full-fledged member of FERMA as well as in previous times. The representatives of Rusrisk moderated several workshops and participated in discussion of current problems in Monte Carlo.

Our colleagues took part also in numerous meetings and negotiations with the management of the leading European and world companies, and in the social and student's program of the Forum also.

The performances of special guests of the Forum were met with a great interest: Karl Bildt, the former prime minister of Sweden, and Jamie Shea, the deputy assistant to the NATO Secretary General.

Within last forum the president of RusRisk participated in the Summit of presidents of the National Associations entering FERMA. The president of RusRisk also took place in a meeting of the Board of Directors of the International Federation of risk management and insurance associations ( IFRIMA).

The following main events of FERMA were announced: a seminar following the results of another research of a risk management conditions in Europe (Antwerp, October, 2018) and the next Forum (Berlin, November, 2019).
